Freedom Walk Naming Opportunities
Talk a walk on the bright side.
The corner of Independence Drive and Freedom Way marks the entrance to our sprawling campus. These roads follow the same pathways as our FreedomWalk, the shaded sidewalk that meanders between our kennels and the student dormitories.
This is no ordinary sidewalk.
Our Freedom Walk is where students catch a glimpse of the potential in their new independence. It is here that they take those tentative first steps with their new guide dogs. This outdoor classroom allows our students to practice in privacy before venturing into town and beyond. Our guide dogs are highly trained to protect their owners from curbs and other obstacles, such as bicycles we place in the path or cars driving past the crosswalks.
The walk also serves as a hallmark of the kindness of our partners, with engraved benches, bricks, and granite stones reflecting the goodwill of others.
You can be a part of the Freedom Walk, too, by supporting Southeastern Guide Dogs with a park bench, a Freedom Walk brick, a diamond of bricks, or a granite diamond.
