We've grown up in 25 years!
In 1987, Ronald Reagan was President, a gallon of gas was 86 cents, and Southeastern Guide Dogs launched our inaugural Walkathon. Fifty walkers and 30 dogs walked around the city of Palmetto, raising $15,000 dollars-a generous beginning for what has evolved into our most important fundraiser of the year. In comparison, last year's wet and rainy Walkathon welcomed 1,600 walkers and 700 dogs who raised $350,000 dollars.
And every penny helps us continue matching world-class guide dogs with hardworking and deserving students and graduates, who overcome incredible obstacles every day- just to take a walk.
Family and friends, graduates and guests, get ready to take a Walk.
