Kathy Champion – Hometown Hero

The Tampa Bay Lightning honored our own graduate Kathy Champion as their Community Hero during the first period of the game against the Philadelphia Flyers. Kathy, who received a $50,000 donation from the Lightning Foundation and the Lightning Community Heroes program, donated the funds to Southeastern Guide Dogs.

Together with her wonderful guide dog Angel, Kathy has been involved with many charitable efforts that benefit wounded soldiers over the past several years, including Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Helping Our Troops, Operations Never Forgotten, the TAMCO Foundation and Southeastern Guide Dogs.

We are grateful to Kathy for being such an amazing ambassador for our organization.
