Workplace Campaigns

You will now find us listed as Southeastern Guide Dogs CFC #11903.

Last year’s workplace givers were directly responsible for raising enough funds to fully sponsor seven guide dog teams. A true example of a combined effort in helping others in need.

Workplace gifts are collected through payroll deductions at your place of employment. It is a simple, efficient and convenient way for you to make a donation to your favorite charity.

CFC Campaigns:
If you are a federal employee or postal worker you would contribute through the Combined Federal Campaign found listed under the Animal Funds of America Federation. Our number is 11903.

State and Municipal Campaigns:
If you are a state or local government employee you will find us through Independent Charities of America and our number will vary with each campaign. Each state has its own unique eligibility criteria and presently Southeastern Guide Dogs qualifies and participates in many states.

United Way “Shared” Campaigns:
A few United Ways allow federations and their member charities to be listed in their United Way Campaign brochures. The primary United Way “Shared” campaigns are the San Francisco Bay Area United Way which includes Southeastern Guide Dogs and the Washington DC area campaign. The DC campaign requires a “local presence” and at this time Southeastern Guide Dogs is not listed in their campaign

Donor Option:
Most of the local United Ways offer “Donor Option,” a program that allows contributors to “write in” a charity not listed in the brochure. Each local United Way has its own guidelines and some will require the charities to complete paperwork before forwarding a gift.

Independent Corporate Campaigns:
If you want to contribute through a corporate campaign look for our name listed in the campaign brochure. We are not always listed as each corporation sets their own guidelines. Most charities are included in the corporation’s campaigns through nominations and past giving from its employees.

Matching Gifts:
Many corporations offer matching gift programs. You may want to check with your employer to see if they offer such a program. Each corporation establishes their own guidelines. Matching gifts are a wonderful way of doubling and in some cases tripling your donation.

Some corporations will also match volunteer hours with a donation to the charity with whom you volunteered. There are many different programs and we encourage you to check with your employer about the programs they may offer to charities.

Matching gifts may be designated for general operations, endowment, or capital improvements.

The gifts can be applied toward one of our sponsorship programs, fund raising events or the Freedom Walk.
