Our dogs change lives.
Thanks to you, our extraordinary dogs transform the lives of people with vision loss, veterans, and children throughout the United States—at no cost to the recipients.
Welcome to Southeastern Guide Dogs.
Offer help, healing, and hope to veterans.
- Service dogs help veterans heal from physical and invisible wounds.
- Therapy dogs assist patients and healthcare workers at military facilities to recover from pain and distress.
Skilled Companion Dogs
Offer comfort and companionship to their human partners. They give:
- Friendship to children, teens, and adults with vision loss facing isolation.
- Hope to veterans battling with despair.
- Relief to military families grappling with stress.
- Love to Gold Star families coping with grief.
Extraordinary Dogs. Quality Services. No Cost.
We are the only organization in North America to provide guide and service dogs, online and in-person training, lifetime alumni support, premium dog food, and preventative veterinary care—all at no cost.
Because love, hope, and independence should be given freely.
If numbers are your thing, we’ve got some.
FOUR DECADES OF HOPE
Dogs making a difference since the Columbia launched its first mission and Pac-Man ruled the arcade.
PUPPIES AND DOGS
We care for dogs on campus, in puppy raiser homes, and living with alumni—that’s a lot of puppy love.
Hey, alumni friends, we’ve got your back. We support more than 630 active guide and service dog teams.
THE AMOUNT WE CHARGE
Our dogs give love unconditionally, and we follow their lead. Dogs, instruction, lifetime support—all free of charge.
U.S. STATES SERVED
Don’t let the name “Southeastern” fool you. We’re there for people nationwide.
YEARS OF TRAINING
Our pups start “school” at 2 days old. From Puppy Preschool to Canine University and graduation, our smart dogs love to learn!
TRAINING DAYS ON CAMPUS
It’s the humans’ turn to learn. Guide dog students train for 20 days; service dog recipients for 11. And some people train at home.
YOUR FRIENDSHIP MATTERS
Your donations and volunteer service make our mission possible. There’s room for you in the Southeastern Guide Dogs family!
Our board of directors and management team lead our pack with passion.
We’re grateful for the generosity of these caring, compassionate organizations.
Mission Advancement Council
These “friendraisers” cultivate relationships and share our vision with others.
“Our commitment to excellence and unsurpassed quality is mirrored in the Southeastern Guide Dogs organization, and we are proud to partner with them in the Alumni Support program.”
— Bryan Nieman, fifth-generation family member of Fromm Family Pet Food. Fromm donates quality dog food to our nearly 600 guide and service dog alumni.
