What goes on behind the harness?

Guests will enjoy an overview of Southeastern Guide Dogs and a hands-on experience in the Freedom Pavilion. This experience will include a volunteer-presented overview of Southeastern Guide Dogs followed by a blindfold walk with our guide dogs in training and our trainers.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to walk with a guide dog, trusting the dog to keep you on the path?

The Guide Dog Experience begins with an overview presentation where you’ll learn more about the creation of a guide dog. Next, guests ages 12 and older can experience a blindfold walk with a guide dog in training, hosted by a professional trainer. This intimate experience is limited to 10 guests, with ample time for questions and answers.

For just $15.00 per person (which helps us buy puppy food!), we’ll reserve a spot just for you. Sessions are limited to 10 guests.

  • Please note – This event is held outdoors in our covered pavilion.
  • For the safety and well-being of our guests and our puppies, all children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Reservations must be made for every person in your party (Children 2 and under are admitted at no charge and do not need a reservation).
  • Reservations are non-refundable.
  • Reservations are required. We are unable to accept walk-ins.

PLEASE NOTE: Your reservation is NOT complete until you have submitted payment and see the “Thank you for your reservation” screen.
