Meet Joanne and ambassador dog Noah

Joanne and ambassador and therapy dog Noah

Joanne and ambassador dog Noah smile in front of the gift shop.

With a name like Noah, it’s a good thing this playful, romping black Labrador loves the water. At his new home with Joanne Moore and her husband, Joe, Noah lives on a canal and loves sitting on the dock watching pelicans and going boating with his new family. Joanne looks forward to representing our school with Noah as an ambassador dog, taking him to events, speaking when requested, and volunteering at All Children’s Hospital. Noah will soon become certified as a therapy dog, something Joanne has been passionate about for many years as she is an official certifier of therapy dogs.

Joanne is a longtime volunteer at Southeastern Guide Dogs, participating in our Walkathons since 1996 and helping with the St. Petersburg puppy raisers group in the past. After she retired two years ago from a career with Verizon, she volunteered on our campus and now provides breeder enrichment at our Veterinary Center and canine enrichment at our Training Kennel. “I especially enjoy the Vet Center,” she says. It gives me an opportunity to watch procedures, and you really feel like you’re part of the organization. I also enjoy the training kennel and enriching the dogs outside the kennel as well.”

Joanne serves on the St. Petersburg Walkathon committee, and this year she’s manning the puppy kissing booth. With his good looks and sweet personality, Noah just might take his turn there, too. “He’s a sweetheart, he loves to kiss!” she says with a smile. Joanne and Noah are wonderful ambassadors for Southeastern Guide Dogs, and we appreciate them.
