Time, Talents, and Energy: We Love our Volunteers!

It’s National Volunteer Week, and we’d like to take a moment to celebrate the kindness and caring of some very special individuals—our volunteers. When you include our on-campus volunteers, Walkathon volunteers, breeder host volunteers, and puppy raiser volunteers, the number of caring individuals donating their time, talents, and energy to Southeastern Guide Dogs tops 700! Our 449 on-campus volunteers alone donated 39,283 hours of service last year, and that’s not counting the volunteers who helped out for our nine Walkathons or the 24/7 services of our breeder hosts and puppy raisers. Puppy raiser volunteers have the emotional task of loving and training a puppy for over a year, and then giving it back to us—along with a part of their hearts!

To all of our volunteers, thank you for your generosity and dedication. Thank you for giving us a most precious gift—the gift of yourselves. Thank you for being superheroes!
