Our Kids Companion Dogs build a bridge between the child of today and the independent guide dog handler of tomorrow. Each Kids Companion Dog receives nearly two years of training. When teamed up with a visually impaired child, they work together to teach the child how to care for all the dog’s needs, including feeding, grooming, walking, and playing. The child gains a faithful companion as well as a sense of ownership, responsibility, and maturity. In appreciation for your scholarship donation, we will provide a photo and short biography of the child and the dog.

Your $5,000 scholarship supports the in-home placement of a skilled, loving dog with a child with vision loss, and supports the education of the family on the dog’s cues, skills, and care.
